Lord, In your love, you gather your people this day; help us to serve them in a Christ-like manner, even as your son Jesus served those who gathered about him. Make us prayerful, patient, helpful, and understanding, and may we radiate the joy that faith brings as we serve their needs. Please give us your strength to support one another in this ministry.
May all who assemble to celebrate our common faith in the risen Savior be glad of heart for being here and for having encountered Christ in our liturgical celebrations and our supporting ministries.

Usher Offertory Collection Procedures

The following procedures pertain to the collection of Offertory Giving during Mass celebrations. All ushers must diligently follow these procedures to ensure the integrity and security of collections, aligning with the church's mission of stewardship and responsible financial management.
Before the start of Mass:- Ensure you are dressed appropriately (no tee shirts, jeans, etc).
- Arrive approximately 15 minutes before the start of Mass.
- Ensure the collection baskets are available.
- Determine which section each usher will handle.
Collection Process:- Be ready to start the collection process after the Prayers of the Faithful (Intercessions).
- The collection process will begin in the front rows and proceed systematically to the back.
- Ensure all rows have the opportunity to contribute.
- Encourage a smooth collection process without disturbing those in prayer.
- The collection process should be done quietly without distracting the liturgy.
- Ushers bring collection baskets to Designated Ushers (see below).
Completion of the Collection Process by Designated Ushers:- Two Designated Ushers should bring baskets immediately back to the sacristy. Please note: the two designated ushers may not be related, nor should they be staff members, and they must be on the published usher list posted in the Sacristy.
- The collection should be immediately placed in the numbered tamper-evident plastic bag.
- Once placed in the bag, please sign the bag out in the log maintained in the Sacristy.
- Secure the bag, date the bag, and note the Mass related to the collection.
- Both Designated Ushers must sign the bag.
- The bag is immediately placed in the locked drawer; bags should never be left unsecured.
- Please note that the locked drawer should never be left unattended while unlocked.
