As you are aware, after 12 years of faithful and fruitful service as Music Director in our parish, we bid an official farewell to
Jim Keefe this past weekend of June 29 & 30. We reaffirm our deepest gratitude for all Jim has done for our parish family during his time here at Notre Dame. We pray as well for Jim and his family, and his ongoing personal and professional journey.
As we say farewell to Jim Keefe, we welcome a new Director of Music:
Mark Adamy.
Mark is a Music Director with close to 20 years of experience directing large music programs in service to the Catholic Church and beyond. Having led many types of vocal ensembles, he holds a large choral library and has familiarity with repertoire covering many eras and genres. He is also a vocalist, composer, songwriter, as well as producer and arranger.
Mark has extensive experience as an educator (piano, voice, theatre, and violin). Most recently at the DEA Music & Art School in Staten Island, NY, Mark has been the Musical Theater Director and has taught and prepared students for prestigious Arts high schools and colleges.
“My faith is very important to me. I am a Christian who seeks to touch and bless others through the gifts that God has given to me. I truly hope for the opportunity to do so with the congregation of Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel.” Mark Adamy
Mark’s faith, talent and experience will be of great value in the renewal of our parish and our mission. He will gradually transition as our Director of Music throughout the month of July.
In our Christian tradition of hospitality, we extend a warm and open welcome to our new Music Director, who is a person of enthusiasm, commitment and joy in Christ!
