It is with great joy and gratitude to God that I introduce to all parishioners at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel, Lucas Folan, a newly accepted seminarian for the priesthood in the Diocese of Paterson.
It is surely a sign for our times. It is a hope for the renewal of the Church. It is a confirmation that the Holy Spirit is still guiding disciples of Jesus to serve in the mission of the Church through renewal, and to evangelize the world with the Word of God; Jesus our Lord!
Lucas has been discerning the call to priesthood for some time. He will continue to do so in the years that lie ahead of him beginning at The College Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, St. Andrew College, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.
Notre Dame of Mount Carmel is grateful for his response to the call of God, and we lift up in prayer his family, the bedrock of all vocations. Please keep Lucas in prayer. Pray that others will discern their particular vocation in life, be it , marriage, religious life, single life or the ordained priesthood of Jesus,
In these difficult days that the world, and the Church is experiencing, the Holy Spirit is working in the life of Lucas Folan and others like him, to bring the hope of Jesus into the fabric of his faithful people.
Congratulations Lucas! May God bless you, the Holy Spirit inspire you, and may Jesus be at your side, accompanying you on your faith journey.
