Last night, parishioner Linda Baratte led over 60 participants through an evening of reflection and insight on the gospel of Matthew. As we anticipate ending the gospel of Luke for the new liturgical year of Matthew, Linda’s message was especially enlightening and meaningful.
A very crowded Room 201, which included some of our Faith Formation parents and their teens, was filled with faithful people who were treated to fascinating perspectives on this gospel, including its unique themes, mysterious authorship, and how its elegant structure is designed to teach what Jesus most wanted us to know about his truths.
For deacons, who have the gift of preaching, to liturgical ministers, who are participants in the liturgy, to those in the pews simply wanting to understand more, the evening was truly a gift. Thank you, Linda!
And while the grownups had the opportunity last night to learn more about the gospel of Matthew, we've got our little ones in Faith Formation doing so as well! 1st graders have been taking turns bringing home "a traveling bible" and reading preferred stories with a parent; then they get to draw a picture of their favorite story. Here we share a bit of their awesome bible artwork!
