How blessed are WE?!? For the first time, we experienced a Notre Dame weekend with our new priests. Our Pastor, Father Paddy, and his Associate, Father Mariusz, concelebrated each Mass with conviction, joy, and the most engaging and upliftng personal style. It was evident to both priests that because of seeds planted and nurtured by our Father Jude, we are a parish family alive in the faith and committed to living and spreading the Good News.
In his homily, Fr. Paddy affirmed the sorrow that we – and his former parish, Christ the King – felt in saying our recent good-byes, at the same acknowledging the joy and excitement we feel in wishing each other “hello.” He paid moving tribute to Fr. Jude for the strong foundation he laid and for his tireless work in building up the Body of Christ at Notre Dame. He said he looked forward to sharing his vision with us and ours with him, and that the most important thing will be that we take this journey together.
Fr. Paddy loves our music and felt the joyous energy in our worship through song (thank you, Jim Keefe!). Father treated us to a spectacular solo during Masses – “The Impossible Dream” – sung with authentic feeling and remarkable talent.
We are grateful to you, Fr. Paddy, for sharing your humble, authentic self with us this weekend, and to you, Fr. Mariusz, for your presence on the altar and in the gathering space to meet our beautiful family of faith.
We warmly welcome you both and look forward to encouraging and supporting you in whatever ways we can!
