On the weekend of October 4-6, a group of 18 men gathered for the parish’s annual The Road to Emmaus Retreat to help deepen their faith lives as Christian men. Set on the pastoral grounds of St. Mary’s Abbey in Morristown, these men revealed their personal experiences, listened to inspirational sharings from their brothers, and bonded in fellowship through spiritual practices. The retreat also included some moving rituals to remind them of the love and blessings that God imparts to all of us. Following Reconciliation on Saturday night, Fr. Jhon celebrated Holy Mass with these men in the Abbey’s chapel, which further enhanced the solemnity and beauty of our shared experience. This weekend was yet another opportunity to remind all of us that, like the original disciples on The Road to Emmaus, we are never alone—Jesus is always there to walk beside us.
