On Monday and Tuesday evenings, Feburary 27 & 28, 2017, attendees at our parish Lenten retreat were enlightened, engaged, entertained, and prompted to ponder some of Jesus’ most penetrating questions from the gospels. Leading us on this two-night journey was Allan Wright, Academic Dean of Evangelization at St. Paul Inside the Walls, professor of theology at Seton Hall, and author of several books. We were led on a journey of discovery into how God’s Word has the potential to transform us from being “keepers of the aquarium” to fishers of men.
Allan’s formidable knowledge of scripture , conveyed through a remarkably unassuming style, was intermingled with stories of his own life as a son, brother, father and husband, often using the powerful tool of his ability to see the occasional silliness of our lives and actions.
We feel much gratitude to have been inspired by this humble, scholarly and holy evangelist – a marvelous witness and example of a missionary disciple!
