Christ's Corner Gift Shop - Please consider assisting at the Christ’s Corner Gift Shop after Sunday Mass (or after the week-day Mass if that is more convenient). We have recently experienced the loss of some of our volunteers; some because of work schedules and others due to moves away from the area. We expect that you would only have to assist in the Gift Shop once or twice a month (for approximately 15-20 minutes). If this opportunity to serve your Parish is of interest, you are welcome to come by after Mass and talk with (or observe) any volunteer ‘behind the counter’ or if you prefer, call the Parish Office at 973-538-1358 and ask for someone to contact you directly. This is a fun way to serve your parish family and ensure that our Gift Shop remains open after all weekend Masses.
Shepherd's Call: Many young families stop coming to Mass due to struggles they encounter in keeping their little ones from being disruptive during Mass. Our Shepherd's Call Ministry gives families an opportunity to come to our 9am or 10:30am Mass and change an experience of stress and frustration to one of spiritual nourishment for the entire family! Will you consider helping us? Ministers are scheduled to serve only once per month or less, based on personal availability, and may choose to serve during the 9am or 10:30am Mass (or both!). About an hour and half of your time each month is all it takes to bring these families back to Mass! If you are able to make a difference in the lives of these families, Patty Strunk at pstrunck@optonline.net , or Mary McGovern at marymcg19@aol.com.
Weekend "After Mass" Hospitality: One of our main goals as a parish is to extend a warm sense of welcome and hospitality to all who enter our spiritual space. It is a spirit we can all extend in small and big ways, through visible and behind the scenes tasks – it is not something to be done by just a few, but something to be done with everyone’s help. We need a crew of folks to help restore our Gathering Space after the 12:15pm Mass on Sundays – just vacuum the carpet, clear the donuts, coffee & tea containers, wipe tables. With a few helpers, this can be taken care of in 15-20 minutes.
Welcoming: Hospitality Desk Ministry: Do you have a spirit fo welcoming? Are you friendly? Are you comfortable speaking to people you may not know? Our Welcoming Desk ministers are available to answer general questions for visitors. -- and to offer a smile, a warm greeting and a spiirt of welcome!
If you would like to server your parish community in the above mentioned ways (or any other way!) please contact our parish office at 973-538-1358, ext. 105 or email commsupport@ndcarmel.com. Bless you!
