Our Faith Formation model for families with children in Pre-K to Grade 2 encompasses the following components:

1. Sunday Mass
2. Participation in worship leader positions (at least a couple of times a year)
3. Participation in our Family-themed units that occur as part of the 9:30 AM Family Mass
4. Family Events at Notre Dame
5. Pathways Program (for Level 1 and Level 2 First Communion Prep). Click here  for Pathways

(1) Participation in Weekly Sunday Mass

Families are invited to experience Sunday Mass as a family.  To better engage the children in the liturgy, special attention is given to the children during 9:30 AM Mass on Sundays through: 

• Child-friendly homilies
• Encouraging child participation: Children are invited to be Prayer of the Faithful readers, hand out music sheets, join the Joyful Noise or Cherub choirs, and train to be altar servers. Fifth and sixth graders and up are encouraged to proclaim the readings.
• Presentation of Church teachings: children will learn about various aspects of our Catholic faith through engaging themed units. The themed units have at-home and in-church components.

Families are required to fill out a Mass Transit Card after attending Mass. These cards offer a short reflection and an opportunity for families to write what they have observed at Mass.
